Apple confirms iPhone 5C and iPhone 5S

The iPhone 5C is official. Apple has now confirmed that it will be releasing two iPhones this year – and the iPhone 5C was the first out the blocks this evening.

This year, we're going to replace the iPhone 5 with not one, but two new designs," said Phil Schriller during the Apple keynote. 

The iPhone 5C will be available in  Green, white, blue, pink, and yellow. The iPhone 5C will also feature a 4-inch Retina Display and run Apple’s A6 chipset. 

"It's made with all the incredible technology of the iPhone 5," added Phil Schriller. "The entire back and sides are made from a single part."

"Phone 5C is everything iPhone 5 was and more, in an all-new design packed with great features", said Schiller. "iPhone 5C is designed with a beautiful polycarbonate enclosure that looks and feels so solid in your hand."

The iPhone 5C will also support more LTE bands than any other smartphone on the planet, according to Apple.

Jony Ive described the iPhone 5C as “beautifully, unapologetically plastic”.
