iPhone 6 release date, specs and features: What you need to know

Ahead of its suspected 2014 release, here's everything we currently know about the iPhone 6

What to expect from Apple’s iPhone event

Later today Apple will unveil its new iPhone handset, believed to be called the iPhone 5S, alongside the GM version of iOS 7 and, potentially, a more affordable iPhone handset known as the iPhone 5C. But we won’t be seeing the iPhone 6. No, that one’s coming in 2014 – and it’s said to feature a larger display and complete re-design.
Tonight will be all about the iPhone 5S and (potentially) the iPhone 5C
Rumours of the iPhone 5S, iPhone 5C and Apple’s plans for China have been in circulation for months now, and tonight’s event will put these assertions to the test. It’s Tim Cook’s first BIG launch since the passing of Steve Jobs, and already Wall Street is confident that Apple will come up with the goods.
So what are we likely to see unveiled at tonight’s iPhone
(100 percent) This is a dead-cert. Apple will almost certainly unveil a revamped iPhone, called the iPhone 5S, that ships with an updated processor, fingerprint scanner, and some new imaging technology – a new f/2.0 lens and dual-flash, apparently. The handset will look the same as the iPhone 5 – boo! – but it will ship in a selection of new colours.
